Physicians at all eight of its hospitals can use one viewer to see almost all clinical imagery. Patients can view images in the patient portal, too – and 11,000 do so each month.

HIMSS25 session will show how an AI solution can be implemented even at a high-volume, safety-net healthcare setting.

Artificial intelligence reduced scan times, sometimes by 30%-50%. Diagnostic accuracy improved. And the chances of missed diagnoses were reduced, improving patient outcomes.

Perinatal Associates has grown by implementing both telehealth consults and tele-ultrasound, aiding mothers through nearly 9,000 pregnancies statewide this past year.

"Both the image and the report have to be available to anyone involved in the care of the patient, at any time from anywhere – including the patient," says the health system's chief health informatics officer Dr. David Kaelber in a HIMSS25 preview.

The joint research program will focus on advancing the diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases and cancer, two of the most life-threatening and prevalent worldwide.
